Grand Rapids

Known as Beer City USA, Grand Rapids is a beer lover’s paradise, with a thriving craft brewery scene, experimental brews, and plenty of beer-centric activities and events. Here, small-scale experimental home brewers taste and tinker right alongside master brewers from some of the nation’s most acclaimed brands.

Grand Rapids’ flagship Founders Brewing Company is a household name, and the brewery that helped launch America’s craft brewing obsession. But the city’s beer scene goes much deeper than that, with a host of fantastic breweries, many of which are within walking distance.

The bustling downtown enclave is home to New Holland Brewery and taprooms for Detroit-based Atwater Brewing and the crafty brewhouse Brewery Vivant, which is housed in an energy-efficient building that was a former funeral home. In the suburbs, Grand Haven and Holland each have several local breweries.

A visit to Grand Rapids also means a stop at Fountain Hill Brewery, which is run by students studying for their craft brewing, packaging and service operations certificates at the nearby Grand Rapids Community College. It’s a fun way to learn about the local brewing industry and sample their creations.

Brussels

Brussels, Belgium is no stranger to beer, but a new brew scene has exploded in recent years. It’s a great time to visit this European capital and experience the local craft beer culture.

Many breweries offer a variety of educational experiences to attract visitors. Educational experiences are a powerful tool in building customer loyalty and brand equity, transforming customers into brewery fans. Additionally, they contribute to the economic development of the brewery by spending money in restaurants, hotels and retail stores.

One of the best places for a unique craft beer tour is the Theatre Royal de Toone in Brussels, a former marionette theatre that now houses a quirky cafe with dozens of small hand-carved puppet heads mounted on the walls and draping from the ceiling. The place looks like a movie set and serves beer that’s as eclectic as the surroundings. Beer lovers should also check out La Mort Subite, a Belgian beer bar that serves everything from Lambic to Gueuze and has a history going back generations.

Tampa Bay

Florida’s largest craft beer region has a lot to offer. Its breweries feature local ingredients like citrus and Cuban coffee. Cigar City Brewing built on more than a century of brewing history to create Tampa Bay’s hub for crew beer. Their brews draw on unique local flavors in drinks like Jai Alai, Florida Cracker and Maduro, which features locally roasted Cuban coffee.

Other breweries that focus on creating creative concoctions are Sevenventh Sun and Southern. Both have a wide selection of craft beer on tap, including hazy IPAs and thick stouts. They also have a full menu and friendly staff.

Whether you are looking for an adventurous brewery tour or just want to try some new beers, you can visit Tampa Bay’s many different breweries. With breweries in Tampa, Westchase, Oldsmar and other nearby cities, you’ll never run out of options! The area’s diverse offerings are a perfect fit for anyone who loves craft beer.

Oklahoma City

When visiting Oklahoma City, most people think about dining at Cattlemen’s Steakhouse or exploring the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. But craft beer lovers will be pleased to know that the metro area boasts a fantastic brewery scene.

Located in the trendy Plaza District, Oak & Ore is one of the most popular breweries in Oklahoma City. Its industrial-chic space features 36 taps and a menu of elevated pub food. Guests can sample everything from a delectable Vanilla Coffee Porter to a lighter Rose Rock.

Another local favorite is Prairie Artisan Ales. This brewer began in Tulsa but recently opened a brewery and taproom in Automobile Alley. The company prides itself on blending first-rate ingredients with a fun, relaxed atmosphere.

Lastly, Skydance Brewing is Oklahoma City’s only Native American-owned microbrewery. They use indigenous culture as inspiration for their beers and aims to create beers that bring people together.
